Dr. Yong Deng
Dr. Yong Deng is an internationally well-known expert in Chinese medicine and acupuncture, teaching and practicing at medical schools in China and the United States for 40+ years with a concentration in Traditional Chinese Medicine for a wide range of diseases and conditions. One of Dr. Deng’s focuses is female infertility. Due to his extensive knowledge, Dr. Deng was invited to Sonoran University in 1996 and since then has been serving as the chair and professor of the Department of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. He was a member of the State of Arizona Acupuncture Board of Examiners and has published over 40 papers and several books including the Encyclopedia of Chinese and U.S. Patent Herbal Medicines. Dr. Deng is specialized in treating the patients with acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, electric stimulation, and other adjunct TCM modalities such as lifestyle, diet, exercise consultations.

Robert Koagedal
Scottsdale, Arizona
Robert Koagedal is a Licensed and board certified Acupuncturist at both his private practice AcuHealth ( 21 years in Scottsdale) and also was appointed the Director of Acupuncture for Honor Health in 2023. His private practice emphasizes women’s health from menstrual disorders, infertility and pregnancy. Robert helps those going through the process of Assisted Reproductive Technologies to improve IVF success rates. His protocol includes acupuncture, nutrition and specific lifestyle recommendations including mindfulness, mediation and deep relaxation exercises. The use of Chinese Medicine and acupuncture is to improve the function of the ovaries to produce better quality eggs, regulate hormones to produce a larger number of follicles, increase blood flow to the uterus and thickness of the uterine lining, prevent uterine contractions, strengthen and regulate the immune system, and decrease the chance of miscarriage. We hear time and again that one of the greatest benefits of acupuncture at our office and on the day of transfer is that it helps so much to improve relaxation and decrease stress.

When parents have the tools to process life’s ups and downs in a healthy way, they create a strong foundation for a healthy pregnancy and they are likely to pass these tools on to their child, sharing the benefits of mental health with the next generation.
Kim Kriesel, MSC, LPC
When working with individuals and couples desiring to build families through collaborative reproduction, Kim Kriesel incorporates a compassionate and empathetic counseling style as well as a relevant lived infertility experience into her professional relationships. Following ASRM guidelines, the industry’s highest standard of care, ethics, and professionalism, Kim utilizes both an in-person clinical interview and the PAI, a psychological assessment, to determine a candidate’s appropriateness and suitability as a donor or gestational carrier. To serve families in this capacity, the providers at CFRC have received extensive training in the field of fertility and reproductive mental health including numerous educational trainings on the PAI assessment, supervision, and post-graduate courses and maintain professional memberships with ASRM, SART, ANZICA and PSI.

Angela Bowers, PhD
Dr. Bowers has been in private practice since earning her Ph.D. in 1984. She has a general practice seeing children, teens, adults, families and couples. She has been particularly interested in consulting in the fertility arena for the last 15 years. She provides consultations for couples and individuals who need guidance and/or evaluations as they navigate their fertility journeys. She works with potential egg donors, sperm donors, gestational surrogates, clients contemplating using an egg donor/sperm donor or donated embryos. She primarily uses CBT with her therapy clients, but also has specialized training in clinical hypnosis, Emotional Freedom Technique , and Yoga. She has created several CDs in the past, some of the recordings can be found on her website: artoftransformation.com. She also recently published her first book called Overcoming, which has been well received by the public and by other therapists. In her free time she enjoys painting, reading, pickleball, exercise, and travel.
